Abstract
In this work, we show an interpretation of adult hippocampal neurogenesis before and after junk food diet and with exercise intervention in mice. The colour pattern moves from dark (left) to light (right) using the greens and blue we see under a fluorescent microscope. The change from dark to light represents the state of neurogenesis before exercise, less new neurons, and more microglia (inflammatory state), to after exercise, increased new neurons. The mouse is highlighted here as its a powerful model for diet-induced obesity and looking at aspects of neurogenesis over time.
