Kartik Pradeepan

Kartik is a PhD student co-supervised by Dr. Julio Martinez-Trujillo and Dr. Lyle Muller. His research focuses on combining stem cell derived neuronal cultures, high throughput electrophysiology, and computational modeling to understand the functional developmental trajectory of neurodevelopmental disorders like Rett Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Outside of the lab, Kartik enjoys working out, playing with his two cats, and watching mind-bending movies.

Dana Gummerson

Dana is a first-year MSc student supervised by Dr. Steven Laviolette. In the lab, she uses brain organoids to study the influence of a lack of oxygen during prenatal development on the cortical layering of the frontal cortex in healthy and schizophrenic populations. Outside of her research, her hobbies include going on hikes, crocheting, and reading books!
